Bio:
Dr. Courtney Green is a Teaching Assistant Professor for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Williams States Lee College of Engineering in Charlotte. She teaches the Introduction to Engineering (ENGR 1201), Engineering Technology (ETGR 1201) courses, Engineering Ethics (CTCM 2530), Statics (MEGR 2141), and Solid Mechanics (MEGR 2144). Along with teaching, she is active in engineering education research related to broadening participation in engineering and academic success and persistence of engineering transfer students. Before joining Charlotte, she worked as a project engineer at SKA Consulting Engineers, Inc., in the Building Solutions Group. She performed forensic investigations to determine the condition of building systems and components, prepared remedial designs, and led construction administration. She obtained a Ph.D. in Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation from UNC Charlotte in 2022, an M.S. in Engineering with a structural engineering concentration from UNC Charlotte in 2008, and a B.S. in Mathematics from Marshall University in 2004.
