New Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Carlos A. Gonzalez-Calderon Joins Transportation Engineering

Dr. Carlos A. Gonzalez-Calderon is an Assistant Professor of Transportation Engineering. He earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering (2004) and an M.S. in Transportation Engineering (2007) from the National University of Colombia, an M.E. (2010) and a Ph.D. (2014) in Transportation Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), and a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) from University College London (2025). His research explores freight transportation modeling and economics, urban logistics, sustainable transportation systems, transportation planning, and transportation health. He previously served as a Professor of Transportation Engineering at the National University of Colombia and as a Research Associate at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Dr. Gonzalez-Calderon has contributed to research projects supported by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Transportation, the National Cooperative Freight Research Program, the World Bank, and the Inter-American Development Bank.
