We are excited to announce that Dr. Kelsey Pieper, our newest hire in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), has been named one of the 40 Under 40 awardees by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers & Scientists (AAEES).

Her research focuses on addressing drinking water challenges in communities using private wells and municipal systems. She works to understand and prevent water contamination during both routine and emergency situations.

She has led collaborative projects funded by organizations like the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, translating her research into practical solutions for communities. Her efforts have improved water safety, emergency response protocols, and decision-making tools for public health officials.
